This week in our third hour english class on Monday, we went through these notes that were called " Living In Sym" and it explains different types of scientific relationships between people. Then on Tuesday we related those terms to Of Mice And Men and differences between the relations with the characters. On Wednesday we watched two videos, one was on the 1930's and the other was on the 1950's. After each video we had to compare and contrast them. The reason why we did that was because Of Mice And Men took place in the 1930's and the new book that we are reading is called October Sky that was based off the 1950's. Thursday came as soon as possible, we started the class out with exchanging laptops with people so they can write a quick sentence or two in 1 minute in our quick writes, then when time was up we gave them back their owner and they had to finish off the rest making up their own part of the story. Afterwards we read chapter two in class of October Sky.

This week I felt as if I wasn't here at all. Monday, I do not remember what we did in class it was all a blur to me that day because a lot of things happened over the week such as the juniors taking the SAT and sophomores taking the practice. But on Tuesday we watched the movie Of Mice And Men, and I wasn't into watching it as much as I wanted to. Wednesday we weren't in class at all, because that was the day we took the PSAT that just fried my brain throughout that whole day. Thursday we worked on a worksheet with questions that went along with the movie, and then after that we worked on a worksheet to compare relationships with Of Mice And Men to some definitions. This week what the 3rd hour class did was mostly reading Of Mice And Men and did our creative writing on Tuesday and Thursday. When we read the book we had the option of going down to the media center to read on our own or stay in the classroom and hear the dramatic reading. I chose to read by myself and some days stayed in class to hear because I like to go at my own pace and sometimes when other read to me. At the end of each chapter we would have to write a summary in our journal entries. What I learned this week was a lot of things, but mostly from the book. The book was very interesting and was not what I had expected of it all. From my view, it was boring at some parts but most of all, other parts were very interesting. As for our writers journal, I like doing them because I can make as many mistakes I can make and not get graded on that part and also writing about whatever I want. |
